Annual Events
The Chesterfield Historical Society hosts a number of activities each year. Michigan Log Cabin days is the last Saturday in June. History Alive! is a timeline of historical reenactors in period clothing with encampments and displays which tell the story of Macomb County history, from the early days of the fur trade through the war on global terror. The Michigan Military Technical & Historical Society participates in a World War II reenactment of Operation Cobra in August. The event features both an Allied and Axis encampment for public displays with two public battles. Heritage Days is the second Saturday of September and includes pioneer games candle making, rope making, corn grinding, and a scavenger hunt. Each Christmas season the schoolhouse is open in conjunction with Chesterfield Township’s annual tree lighting ceremony on the first weekend in December.
